Multi-Generation Farmers, First Generation Farm to Table
Meet Your Farmers: We are Caleb and Lauren Holton, owners and operators of Holton Livestock Company LLC, a small family farm in Southern Ohio. A little bit about us: Caleb was raised on a tobacco and cattle farming operation and was heavily involved in 4-H and FFA in his youth. Lauren grew up surrounded by the farming traditions of her family and enjoyed riding horses and raising livestock for the local county fair. Both alumni of The Ohio State University, Caleb majored in construction systems management and Lauren majored in nursing.
Our Dream: We always knew we wanted to return to our roots in Southern Ohio and raise our family on a farm of our own, where life's lessons can be so prevalent, and every corner offers a learning opportunity. We were blessed to make our dream become a reality in the fall of 2017 with the purchase of our first farm. We started off with a few cattle and goats and have grown to a full commercial cattle breeding, poultry, and hay production operation. In 2021, we were again blessed to purchase and move to another farm just down the road, which better aligned with our farming goals and our methods of operation. We pride ourselves on raising everything with heart, right from the start!
As busy parents and off-the-farm employees, we have always been passionate about how our food was raised. After several years of growing our herds and getting our farm to a sustainable operation, Holton Livestock Company LLC was born. Our goal is to raise quality, natural protein products that you and your family can be proud of.
Our Products: Most of our cattle are born and raised right here on our farm, grazing on fresh pasture all year-round and finished with antibiotic and hormone free grain. Any cattle that we raise that were not born on our farm come from other local farmers that are well vetted. Our laying hens enjoy their daily moves onto fresh pasture, foraging on bugs and grass. The eggs are hand collected daily, washed, packaged, and refrigerator stored. Our Cornish-rock cross chickens are purchased from a local hatchery at 1 day of age and are raised on fresh pasture, rotated daily, and have access to grain and fresh water 24/7. All of our animals are processed at vetted, licensed, USDA inspected harvesting facilities. We have also teamed up with another local farmer to offer farm-fresh pork products to our local community. All of our meat products are frozen at the peak of freshness so your family can enjoy locally raised meat for months to come!
We are constantly growing and evolving to meet the needs of our customers and look forward to serving and providing our local community and beyond with quality, naturally raised protein products!
